Internship Training Program
This internship provides doctoral-level psychology trainees with a balanced year-long training experience in psychological testing and therapy within a private practice setting. Interns gain exposure to both adult and child clinical assessments while completing an optional therapy minor rotation across the year.
The program prepares interns for postdoctoral training and independent practice through supervised clinical experience, professional development, and integration of ethical and culturally responsive practice with a diverse population in terms of age, ethnicity, diagnosis, SES, and gender identity.
Application Requirements
Applicants must be currently enrolled and in good standing in a degree-granting doctoral clinical or counseling psychology program.
Applicants must be approved by their graduate program as being ready for doctoral internship, have completed 1000 hours of practicum experience, 500 hours of which involves face to face contact with clients, and at least 75 hours of assessment experience.
A minimum of 10 psychological evaluations which include assessment of cognitive functioning is recommended though not required.

Intern Selection Process
Insight Carolinas is seeking two doctoral interns each year. Applicants will be considered if they submit the fully completed APPIC Application for Psychology Internship through the APPI Online. Please visit the APPIC Web site: http://www.appic.org.
After applications are received, the training committee reviews all materials. Eligible applicants will be invited for formal interview. All interviews are conducted via Teams. In-person interviews are optional. Interviews take place in December and January. The training committee will meet upon completion of interviews and rank applicants.
In accordance with APPIC guidelines, interviewed applicants who are no longer under serious consideration will be notified as soon as possible but no later than seven days prior to the Rank Order List deadline.
