Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) in Charlotte, NC

If you’re facing daily battles with tantrums, defiance, or frequent communication breakdowns, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) could be a beneficial solution for your family.

As a leading evidence-based treatment, PCIT is designed to help parents of toddlers and young children (ranging from two to seven years old) manage challenging behaviors while concurrently building a more positive relationship with their child.

PCIT is more than just behavior management; through real-time instruction, a PCIT certified therapist will support and guide you as a parent during play and moments of discipline with your child. You will learn and practice evidence-based strategies to mitigate and ultimately reduce difficult behaviors, as well as increase constructive and beneficial interactions and experiences with your child.

Further, this form of therapy provides a tailored, distinct approach, wherein the unique and evolving needs of your family are the foundation of the treatment plan.

Insight Carolinas’ child behavior therapist Ellie Graef, LCSW has 5 years’ experience working with children and families utilizing components of play therapy. Prior to that she practiced applied behavioral analysis therapy (ABA) in a school setting. She is currently working towards national certification in PCIT and will be offering in-person PCIT sessions in Charlotte, for Fall of 2025.

By working with a certified PCIT therapist at Insight Carolinas in Charlotte, you will acquire proven techniques to:
